September Happenings

Walk for Hunger – Join us this afternoon, at Bethel UMC from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m for our Walk for Hunger at the Pearman Field.  During the next number of weeks, we invite you to place cash in shoes to help with GSM Ministry in our community.  

 

Men’s Brunswick Stew:  Saturday, Sept. 14th from 11:00 am-1: 00 pm (or until sold out).  To pre-order or help prepare potatoes and onions call Brian Plaster at 336-209-2959.  Price is $8.00 per quart

 

Caring for Bethel’s Students & Soldier:  If you have a college student (away from home or attending locally) or someone in the military please provide their name, address and a couple of their favorites (cookies, chips, places to eat, etc.) to Patty Holt (336-391-5324) no later than Sept. 15.

 

Directory Pictures:  We are trying to gather information, especially emails together for our directory app.  If we do not have your email address please make sure to email pastormears@gmail.com with contact info. 

 

UM Women, Circle #2:  Our Women will be going out for Breakfast for their September  Meeting. We will leave the church Monday, September 9th at 8:30 am.  Any women of the church are welcome. 

 

Sharing Food With Neighbors:  On Sept. 19 & Oct. 24, Bethel UMC will provide and serve “community meals” at Ward Street Mission, 1619 W. Ward Ave., High Point. Meals are served from 5:00 – 7:00 pm, set up begins at 4:00 pm and van/carpools will leave from Bethel at 3:00.  Just  “come and see” what Ward St. Mission is all about! 

 

Rise Against Hunger Meal Packaging Event:  Sunday, September 29 at 1:00 pm (Gideon Grove UMC ). This is also our 5th Sunday Sing Night.  Dinner will be served after the packaging event and music will begin at 6pm.

5th Sunday Offering:  Our 5th Sunday offering on September 29th will be going towards the Rise Against Hunger food packaging event hosted by Gideon Grove UMC and in conjunction with Good Samaritan Ministries.
